Art Director
BrandTuitive is looking for an Art Director to join the team and take our creative department to the next level. The Art Director should be an enthusiastic, self-motivated individual, open to communication and able to contribute to and lead high-visibility projects.
The ideal candidate should have experience in marketing and brand design, including brand identity work, as well as client presentations. The Art Director should have some experience managing other designers (in-house or freelance) and working with brand strategists and leadership. They should have a roll-up-my-sleeves attitude, a collaborative and team-focused orientation, and be able to see a project through from conception through production, anticipating roadblocks and solving problems. This role is perfect for an Art Director who loves production, team management, and would like an opportunity to grow into a Creative Director role at a small, dynamic agency.
Responsibilities:
Design – Own the creation of client marketing, brand and identity assets. Direct the creative needs of a project and successfully translate them to both strategists and junior creatives to ensure all aspects of the creative process are completed to the highest quality standards.
Manage creative team – Evaluate, manage, develop and mentor in-house and freelance creative resources assigned to different projects under your leadership. Work closely with project managers to traffic design work based on timelines and resources to create optimum efficiency.
Collaboration – Work with leadership and brand strategists to set creative strategy and develop client positioning. Ensure creative product and emotion of the brand is reflected in the creative output.
Creative process – Own the full creative process from brief to production including clarifying creative goals, leading photo and video shoots, managing asset production and coordinating with external production partners. Manage project flow and prioritization including the weekly and daily work plan to ensure “go live” dates are met consistently.
Concepting and communication – Participate and lead creative brainstorm sessions. Create mood boards and present ideas both visually and verbally to internal and external teams.
Brand stewardship – Bring our brand style to all external and internal touch points. Manage design process for new business and external marketing initiatives.
Owns digital creative product – Works with leadership team to define agency digital offering and delivers digital creative that is best-in-class.
Requirements:
Undergraduate degree (B.F.A. or B.A.) in design, fine art or other related field; or 4 or more years related experience and/or training.
5+ years of innovative design experience in a design, consulting or advertising firm with multi-industry clients, preferably at a branding agency.
Extensive experience developing and designing logo marks and brand visual identity systems and translating them into brand guidelines.
Demonstrated skills in utilizing existing brand guidelines to create results-producing, tech-savvy marketing deliverables including campaign concepts, OOH and print and digital advertising.
Experience providing proactive solutions to customers.
Experience working in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines with the ability to switch work streams easily and take on multiple projects at any time.
Resourceful, solution finder, process driven, always willing to improve standards and communicate with team on deadlines, processes and briefs.
Portfolio should demonstrate strategy behind projects and solutions implemented via design thinking.
Extensive knowledge of typography, layout, color sense and the latest design tools including Photoshop, InDesign and Illustrator.
Excellent verbal and presentation skills to quickly communicate ideas.
Strong interpersonal capabilities, with a focus on clear communication and effective collaboration.
